PAOD Program Manager participated 44th SAFA Board Conference

Mr. Muhammad Zarif Ludin Program Manager for Professional Accountants Organization Development project in Treasury Department attended 44th SAFA (South Asian Federation of Accountants) board meeting and conference held on 13th and 14th August 2016 in Katmandu, Nepal. Mr. Ludin provided a presentation on status of accountancy profession progress since the last meeting of SAFA.

SAFA president and board members warmly welcomed PAOD’s second time participation and extended their technical support to pursue SAFA, CAPA and finally IFAC membership. SAFA president requested the afghan delegation to provide updates and attend future SAFA board meetings to ensure commitment towards membership. The Board asked Sri Lanka and India to support PAOD in establishment of Chartered Accountancy Institute of Afghanistan. PAOD intends to come to an agreement with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) who completely sat out the accountancy body for Bhutan and holds the permanent secretariat of SAFA as well.

PAOD’s participation gained and built further trust of SAFA in terms of its commitments towards regional and international memberships.
